Most log homes consist of a combination of stacked log walls and standard framed walls. For example, many builders prefer to stick frame gables, dormers, garages, and storage buildings, but still want them to look exactly like the stacked logs. The same logic holds true on the inside of homes. Most homeowners recognize that it’s less costly to frame walls, but still want some walls to match the interior of the log. Recognizing these basic building principals, Glu-Lam-Log offers siding and paneling to match the exterior and interior profiles and stack heights of every traditional milled log it produces. When covered with our matching siding and paneling an attached garage or an interior wall becomes visually indistinguishable from stacked log walls. In fact, many owners of stick built homes use our siding and paneling to effectively simulate log home construction. Since we make siding and paneling from the same wood we use in our laminated logs, you can count on material that’s finely milled, extraordinarily dry, and beautiful to look at.
