All log cabin siding is not created equal, and judging by the feedback we get from builders and do-it-yourselfers alike, siding produced at Glu-Lam-Log ranks among the best available anywhere. And that’s no accident. We start with the best materials, use superior milling equipment, and put the whole milling process in the hands of people who genuinely care about the products they produce.

Glu-Lam-Log uses only high quality, dry wood to manufacture its laminated logs and matching siding.

It all starts with the wood...
As our name implies, Glu-Lam-Log is in the business of manufacturing laminated logs. Each of these logs is certified as a structural laminated beam, which, by definition, must employ high-quality, extremely dry wood. Virtually all of the wood we use to make our log cabin siding emanates from this process. This makes for siding that is straighter, more stable, and very resistant to checking.
Superior Milling Process
There really is a difference in milling. We only use carbide knives, multiple cutters, and we feed wood through our milling equipment very slowly. Since the focus is on quality, not on breaking speed records, we don’t hesitate to turn off equipment to resharpen knives as they dull or get knicked. As a result we get cleaner cuts and more cuts per inch. That translates into precision milling and consistency you can count on.

Careful Trimming
At Glu-Lam-Log, we live by the motto that “The bone pile stays here.” We work under the assumption that visibly defective material should never make it out of our yard. We sell all of our siding in random lengths. If we see a blown knot, we cut it out. If we see a cracked end, we trim it off. That means less waste at the job site and more money in your pocket.
Triple Kerf
As an added precaution we triple kerf the back of our siding to relieve tension. The result is siding that is far less prone to bend or twist.
Wrapping and Packaging

| All Glu-Lam-Log siding is triple kerfed to prevent bending and twisting. |
Before leaving our yard, all of our siding is hand-packaged, wrapped, and double banded in high quality, waterproof, UV-resistant plastic wrap.
People Who Care
It may all start with the wood, but it ends with people who genuinely care about the product that bears our name. We take pride in what we do and treat every stick of wood as if it was going to be used in our own homes.
