For an Absolute Log Look Alike
For years, dealers and homeowners have been asking for log cabin siding that’s massive enough and round enough to really look just like a log.?With it’s nominal 2 ” thickness, our half log siding meets these criteria. Milled from a 3x8 Canadian Pine/Spruce that’s been cut, graded, and kiln-dried especially for us, this siding is a true log look alike. In fact, the curvature, if extended, is the same as an 8” full round log. The average moisture content is 15%, or less, and the stress relief kerfs on the back of each stick promote stability and resistance to twisting. Our half log siding is available in both smoothly milled and hand peeled configurations; Matching D-Shaped butt and pass corners; and posted corner trim are available. While highly resistant to cracking, the added thickness of this siding does inevitably produce occasional drying checks that add a more natural character to homes.
