Having applied siding to their window display walls, Valley Furniture, in Hamilton, Montana wanted to give the same warm wood look to the floors. They chose our 6 3/4" tongue and groove paneling and faced the reverse side of the paneling upwards. Our paneling is so finely milled that very little sanding was necessary.

Here's another view of the floored area. Since paneling is relatively thin, a good, strong, flat sub floor is necessary to achieve best results. Several of our builders have taken this approach to when clients have asked for exposed pine floors.

As beautiful as this floor is, it's important to understand that pine is a relatively soft wood. Over time it will become "distressed" from dings and dents. However, modern finishes will flex with the pine to give a beautiful naturally aged look.
