Matching New Additions to Existing Log Homes

Pine Log Cabin Siding, False Corners, Garages
Here's a garage that was added to an existing log home. Since the original log home was built from our logs, the siding match is virtually perfect. A vertical trim board separating the house from the new garage helps hide any minor differences between the log and siding profiles.

Most often it's nearly impossible to exactly match the profile of logs in an old log structure to profiles that are currently avaialble. in these cases we've found it's much more visually effective to make a clear delineation between the old and new building then it to spend time trying to "force" a match. In this case the homeowner used a trim board and chinking to mate his new addition to is old log home. The two buildings don't match perfectly but they look complement each other and look great.
