Notice how the homeowner has creatively used siding to hide the rim joist on his deck. People building with our logs often tuck siding under the drip lip of the logs to achieve the same effect. Take a look at how the more rustic rough sawn posts and exposed metal brackets contrast nicely with the more finished look of the milled siding.

If you look carefully, you'll notice the exposed plywood sheathing just under the roofline. This job was completed on weekends by a do-it-yourselfer. Only a few more sticks to go and the job will be complete.
