The Japanese don't appreciate as many knots as Americans. This interior reflects this aesthetic preference.

With that in mind we thought it would be interesting to share a few photos of a lam log cabin that was built in Japan.

Japanese customers hold very clear wood with small knot structure in high regard. Because of the very high level of seismic activity in Japan, structural integrity and strength are also very important issues.

On both counts our laminated logs fit the bill well. Because we hand pick the wood we laminate, we can select the wood that meets Japanese aesthetic sensitivity for the visible interior and exterior surfaces of the log. From a structural standpoint, every one of our laminated logs is graded, stamped, and approved as a structural laminated beam.
