This is an example of a corner section thats constructed with round/round laminated logs in an H-Notch confirguration. Note how electrical outlet plates can easily be mounted on round logs.

Butt and Pass Corners, where every other log extends past the house, and finished corners that have a posted look are relatively easy to build and are typically constructed in the field. However, H-Notch corners, which are similar to the interlocking corners used with round logs, require more advanced carpentry skills and equipment, and are considerably more difficult to build on site. The same holds true for the Dovetail Corners which are often chosen to give that old fashioned Lincoln Log look to cabins built with square logs. As a result weve received many requests over the years to factory cut these more complex notches.

We now have the capability to notch log ends for Dovetail Corners that so many people like to use on cabins that are built with rectangular logs.

If your home requires H-Notch or Dovetail Corners, we now have the capability to notch them at our facilities. In fact, many builders tell us that its less expensive and the finished corners are more precise than those cut in the field. If you send us a set of your plan elevations well work with you to determine how many logs to notch and will actually have someone from the plant check signals with you just before were ready to process your order.
